SD court cases

Discussion in 'GATE Self-Defense Forum' started by 1canvas, Feb 4, 2012.

  1. I know that you often follow and are aware of court cases where a gun was used in self defense. Is it rare while folowing a case where you see people that used a gun in an SD situation be prosecuted? I know some who carry that have made no effort to explore the legal aspects of SD and don't plan to. The way it looks to me of what I have seen if its rare it still can happen very easily. I do all I can to understand the laws in my area and research case law but still worry.
I was told by an wise old LEO [my Dad] that its not if you are innocent or guilty, its can a case be made against you. Be careful how you tread.

Your father was a wise man.

Most of the time, the system works. Sometimes it doesn't, and we need to be prepared for that.

Same reason we carry guns, really. Most of the time, society works, and people don't attack you for no good reason. But sometimes they do, and we need to be prepared for that.

    Same, same.
