Hi - my concealed carry weapon is a Glock 36 - what's your suggestion on the best self defense round to use in this particular gun. If it matters, I live near Dallas, TX - we don't have to deal with a lot of heavy winter clothing here, but we do have a lot of people with guns. Thanks!

Velocity floors are critical in short barrel .45s, and I've found conventional "old school" copper jacketed hollow points often fail to open well out of these guns. Your best bet is any of the "high tech" bullets whose design parameters included expansion from shorter barrels. These include, in alphabetical order, Federal HST, Remington Golden Saber, Speer Gold Dot (especially the Gold Dot Short Barrel .45 load tailored by Speer engineer Ernest Durham), and Winchester Ranger-T.

    best,
    Mas

Thanks very much for sharing your wisdom, Mas. I've started looking around, and I'm seeing a lot of "Out of Stock" for the Speers and some of the others - I'll find them . . .
