I have a playstation 2 game that isn't working properly. In the middle of gaming the screen will freeze and then sometime say disc read error. It's a pretty new game but there is a light scratch on the disc. Is there a way to remove the scratch? Will this make the game function properly?

Well, the first this to check is if the label side has any damage. Hold the disk up to the light, label side facing away, and if there is a bright spot, that's the problem.

Use a dab of chrome paint on the label's scatch to fix that.

BTW, I have restored many an optical disk, both CD's and DVD's, to playable condition by using Flitz on them.

Just scrub lightly from the disk's center to its rim with a paper towel on your finger and a small (VERY SMALL) amount of Flitz polishing cpd on the disk. Rinse in hot water and it should run much better. Repeat if necessary.

Some of those Demo disks for the XBox and PS actually needed to be boiled in a saucepan full of water to make them run properly...strange but true!

    Anyhow, good luck!
