    This hits close to home.

Another of their high school classmates is a very, very close friend of ours.

When she posted the link on Facebook, I asked if she went to school with them. She said, "Yes, they were high school sweethearts."

    Everyone is in shock.

Please keep all in your prayers and good thoughts...

none of us that ride are immune to this..

  3. If the Dadas had kids, they'd be about teens, give or take a few years. Damn, that would be tough.

    Prayers to their surviving family.

After one accident and many close calls, this is why I gave up motorcycles.

We lost (hopefully only temporarily) one of the guys on my shift recently, when someone ran a stopsign and hit him in the left side of his motorcycle. He lost his left leg below the knee and is currently awaiting a prosthesis. He hopes to be able to get back on the job.

My sympathy to the families involved.

I am a former EMT. I have been to many MV accidents. It doesn't really matter if you are on a motorcycle, in a SUV or driving a Mack 10 wheel dump. You can be 'got'.

Derek El Dada was a good guy. He was a Sergeant with Richland County SO. He was respected and well liked by his deputies. It is a huge loss for the department for sure. They are giving his shift some time off to deal with it. I believe he and his wife had two teenage children.

Sorry to repeat some of this info. I didn't initially see the post. Thanks for posting that Russ.

My choice as well back in 1995 when I almost became a hood ornament. Prayers to the two girls and extended family.
