    In this thread= http://www.glocktalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=717285,
mikol thought that Shooters Arms Manufacturing (SAM) had a new
    design for their SAS12 pump-shotgun. I wasn't so sure, so I waddled
over to SGAC to check things out. Jo was kind enough to allow pix,
even holding the weapon so I could get a somewhat nicer shot.

AFAICT it's still the same SAS12 of 3(?) years running.
Jo was pretty sure of it too, and it's still backordered to heck.
The gun seems to weigh about 7-8 lbs, empty mag.
Mag carries 6 shells, and it's not entirely clear how easy it's
going to be, getting extra mags: the firearm itself is backordered.

The vertical foregrip is racked back and forth to 'pump' (cycle)
the action. The action isn't as smooth as I'd like, but maybe it
can be fluffed/buffed. A fair bit of the construction seems to be
    of aluminium alloy.

Maybe I'll buy one at the Gun Show, to test/review...
then again, transporting it to and from a shottie range is something
that needs to be planned out for feasibility, so...
The emphasis is on the "maybe".

    yup it really looks weird.
sana they could do something to this unit kahit man lang doon sa functionability at ease of use, kung di talaga kayang gawan ng paraan yung forma.

salamat kapatid na horge for taking time to visit SGAC & verify this subject matter to Jo.
so it's not really a new thing from SAM but an old prod in backorder.

That (collapsible apparently?) shoulder stock doesn't look very comfortable.

    Yep, ante... No recoil pad.
It's collapsible all right, and the shooter's shoulder will be too.

Maybe, a padded, folding buttstock would have been better.
Offering the same gun in traditional wood stock format would've
    been great.

Looks somewhat similar to the Daewoo select fire shotgun. Came with a standard and drum magazine.

    hey pips,

i have a sas12 made by SAM, i tried firing it for around 50rounds and it performs well and never failed a single shot and has less recoil. i like the form coz it looks like baby arm hehe. yeah, ur right, its hard to have a spare mags, i alrdy ordered 3 additional mags at SAM cebu and it takes a month b4 i can have it but i think it worth the wait.

    :)

    Thanks for the user-feedback, glockiz!
Glad to hear about its reliability and recoil.

I don't care much for the M4gery styling,
but the use of a box magazine shortens the
whole firearm considerably, making it ideal
    for HD.

If I decide to get one, this coming Gun Show,
I'll likely customize it with wooden furniture,
losing that carrying handle and front sight.

PS: any chance you can crop that photo down? :)

    Hi glockiz,

I can't make the GunShow either, and I'm only 20 minutes away
in heavy traffic. No solid leads on a folding stock, but maybe
you can ask Advanced Weapons Systems (the Gun Directory should
have their numbers), or maybe build your own.

It looks similar to USAS-12 from Daewoo. Do you guys have any info whether our own police or swat units might adapt the SAS12 ?

    Looks only :)
AFAIK, it's been private security agencies mostly. The SAF types seem to prefer the M16/M4 and M14,
but maybe Allegra knows more. AFAIK, not in the any AFP TOE.
