I got the bug again and was thinking about adding Saiga 12 to my collection. Locally found a few price ranging from 675.00 to 709.00. Are thet worth it?

That isn't a terrible price, but its not great either. If you want one then go for it, they aren't getting any cheaper

Saiga 12s are awesome guns, especially when converted and even better as a SBS

I paid over 700 for mine, new when they were getting hard to get. I've put damn near that much into it since.

They do not render your standard 4-7 shot pump gun obsolete, but they look like a blast to shoot.

I say go for it if you really want it.

Some guns are just for fun, you dont have to create a purpose for it.

I struggled with the idea getting one when they were $500, but didn't want to end up with $1200 in a shotgun like I know I would after upgrades. I couldn't see spending $700 on one not converted.

What sight are you using? I have a flat top Saiga 12 Tactical coming.

Any of you plan to have yours set up for HD?

Not very expensive, but I wanted to try out a few things before I go dropping serious dough on glass.

They are definitely cool, but be prepared to put a bunch more into it for the conversion and upgrades. You will probably have to tweak it and fine tune it before it runs 100% as well. Once it's done it will be fun though.

Got to shoot my kid brother's Saiga 12 yesterday. Believe it or not, first time I ever fired a 12 gauge. He paid $700 for it (new) last month. Had to shoot slugs at the range we were at. Wouldn't cycle Federal Low Recoil even when we tried to adjust the gas setting. Switched to Winchester slugs and it ran like a champ. I was able to get 3 of 5 shots to touch the bullseye of a 12 inch Shoot-n-See at 50 yards using the iron sights. I was shocked at how accurate it was. He had a recoil pad on it which helped. Still a decent kick. Has me thinking about one myself.

These are meant to cycle high power loads. 00, #1 and slugs.
