I have a Smith & Wesson model 637. Someone gave me an old box of Hornady Frontier Cartridges 158gr .38spl +P JHP's. I have no clue how old it is, but the 50 round box has an old price tag on it for $11.99. Is it safe to shoot out of my gun? Here is a pic of the box and one of the cartridges. All rounds look in equally good condition, no corrosion or discoloration. Im just looking to shoot them for target practice, not to carry for self defense, maybe to carry in the woods. Thanks!

The 637 is a +P gun so you should be ok. +P's are a handful in a J frame though.

Not long ago I shot some 380 ammo from the 1970's. No problems at all.
