I took my snubbie Model 19 out today for a little exercise. I put some round butt Hogues on it for shooting and they are great. I put 18 rounds of Remington .38s thru it. Both SA and DA it kept all but one in a three inch bullseye. I think that will do. I could even see me carrying this little Smith. It has great sights, easy to see and steady hold. I was not sure about it when I bought it but I am now glad I did. I like it better than the 4" I used to have. More pics for you guys.

Great looking gun. I love the older no lock guns as well.

I agree. I haven't seen a "lock" gun that I want to buy yet. Actually I did buy a 642 CT and it was not bought to look at because they are a little on the homely side IMO.

I've got a 642 (no crimson trace) as my only lock gun too. I just picked up this no-dash 686 made in '84 that I absolutely love. I've refinished the original wood grips, but like the Hogue's for shooting as well.

This is my target from 10 yards. The hole at the bottom is the first 6 shots fired in single action with 130gr 38 specials. The other 3 are from my dad trying out the gun. These older Smiths are very accurate.

And you did a nice job photographing it.

The first handgun I owned was a model 19 with a 6" barrel. I added pachmayr grips with finger grooves.

    I've still got it.

    Outstanding!

There is just something special about blue steel S&W revolvers.

  12. Ahh my favorite revolver. I love the 2.5 inch model 19, only one better is the 3 inch.

The model 19 snubby is one of my favorites. I have two of them, one in blue and one in matte black. The matte black is a factory finish, part of a series made for the US State Department for their security service. I shoot the blued one frequently, but the matte is unfired. The model 19 snubby conceals very well and has a wonderful trigger feel.

  14. I have never seen the matte finish, in some ways I like it better then the blued. I agree with what you said, the trigger is perfect on the model 19. It handles .357 magnum loads fairly well too, to be honest it's the lightest revolver I'd shoot them in.

Should find yourself one. They are not terribly expensive if you shop around. Highly recommend the snubbie.

    Thanks for looking in.

Thanks Glockman. Its a real shooter easy to carry too.

My favorite so far. I like the Model 15 also but I like the fact that I can have six rounds of .357 available .
