Hi All. Is there any way to find the age of a S&W 6904 pistol?
I don't have a book to tell me and I have difficulty located Smith serial numbers online.
However, I believe the 6904 was introduced in 1989 and built through 1997, so chances are its an early to mid 1990's gun.
I have the wonderful Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson by Supica here. It suggests:
Apr 1990 TEP-TFA
1989-1990 TFJ1141 -TFP0372
I don't have Bruce's fancy catalog, but at least I was right on the production years.
Actually, I need to get that catalog. I have more Smiths than any other brand.
Would be a good investment for ya then. I'd personally go crazy trying to research all those serials and stuff.
Thanks for the help.
Just looked ,1991 looks like the manufacture data. Thanks again for all the help.
I wish it was online like so many others.
