After being bitten by the 1911 bug again, I picked up this springfield champion commander in ss to put into rotation for ccw. Its a former Leo trade in and just happens I know the guy. Very well taken care of and still tight throughout!

I had a SS Champion and it was a very good looking 1911 to say the least. I tried t love that gun I really did. To be honest though I just never fell in love with the short 1911's but love the full size. I never had any problems with it but, It just wasn't for me. So I cut a sweet deal on a new mini 14 plus some cash for it. If it would have been a full size 1911 I'd probably still have it.

Same with me. My wife bought an SS champion from her former boss for me for Christmas one year. It probably hadn't had 50 rds. through it. Beautiful gun, but it eats me up with hammer bite every time I shoot it. I have a Colt LWC, Norinco gov. model, and a couple of Charles Dalys, and an RIA tactical and none of them have this issue.

I too have thought about trading it and mentioned it one night that I might trade it in front of my wife--big no-no. So... I have a nice SS Champion in my safe and that's where it will stay.

Are you going there when you pass to be hard chromed as well? I mean you would make a spectacular yard gnome. :tongueout:

Congrats to the OP, that will make a great CCW.

Thanks guys, im a big 1911 fan, so this has become my #1 ccw piece. May change for summer, but for now its top dog lol. Next plans include a carry mainspring housing and front strap checkering. Still thinking about which pattern I want, but I will keep everyone updated with pics :)
