It has been at least 10 years ago (at least)but Ruger Firearms had a policy about health insurance. In the state that the factory is in it is LEGAL to not wear your helment. If you work for Ruger and crashed not wearing your helment the health ins would NOT cover you. I wrote a letter to NRA and they said my topic was interesting but declined to publish it. My argument was if Im in a right to carry state and carry a Ruger(or any gun) and get hurt in a gun fight my health ins can choose not to cover me. Many folks sent them there Ruger firearms and said they didnt want them anymore. The AMA was at share holders meeting and things....Can anyone tell me if they have heard of this and if anything has changed? THANKS!!!

I thought that this had been cleared up some time ago. The AMA was a great help. IIRC, Ruger reversed this decision.

I'll look and send a link if I can find one. I read about it in magazines a few years ago.
