I doubt it, but I'd like to see it happen at some point.
Interesting. Honestly, I hope it is a 1911, instead of something else like the LCR, LCP or SR9(40) pistols - none of which caught my interest at all.
It seems like it should happen, being its the 100th anniversary and all.
are we sure it's not that pos Scout rifle???
It could be.
The fact that they mention 2008, 2009, and 2010, ahndguns of the year leads me to believe its a handgun, but who knows.
I'm thinking it may be an SR45 though.
That's what I thought.
I would HATE an SR45 unless i liked it for some reason<<<
I actually carried a 4506 when we could not carry 1911's a scary accurate blaster she was
that would be interesting.
I think its either a polymer SR45 or a SR1911. Cool to see either way.
A polymer framed p944? I hear Ruger is done with aluminum frames on the p-series handguns. Big deal for guys like me who like DA/SA pistols.
Supposedly, the announcement is Monday.
That's what I was thinking too. I'd like to see Ruger make a 1911 as well. I just wish they would leave all that lawyer BS off the slide and barrel. I'd like to see Ruger put a 1911 out that was similar in price and features as the PT1911. Maybe offer a version that doesn't have the ambi safety too.
I don't think its the Scout.
The announcement is tomorrow at 2PM and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a 1911. I give it about a 10-15% chance.
Yep, their website says 2:00pm, but I have no clue if thats eastern or pacific though. I think it would be cool if they did that, but I won't hold my breath. Probably an SR45 as others have said IMO.
ETA: Oops, Bac beat me to it.
I musta missed that part. Cool, I'll keep an eye out for it. I would tend to think it would be something other than a 1911 myself. But, since this the 100th year, they might release some special edition 1911. I guess we'll find out Monday.
If it is a 1911, I so its not some cheesy special edition, because I won't buy that.
It will be a Gen4 SR9 that will only fire 147gr +P+ from a Ransome Rest.
An announcement that there will be an announcement.
Personally, I'd like to see an LCR in 9mm with the frame and cylinder cut back for the shorter round.
Actually, OM, I'm thinking it may be some micro single stack 9mm.
Either that or an SR45.
It may also be an SR40c. I don't think that's out, is it?
I know the full size SR40 is available.
If that's all it is, I'm going to be really disappointed.
