I shot my Ruger Bisley .44sp today, used the 200gr Win Silvertip JHP.

A little research on chrono data indicates this load is in the low 800fps range from a gun like this. Recoil was about consistent with what remember of .45acp in a 5" 625, so I easily believe low to mid 800's is about right.

I thought my shooting was rather spastic for 25yrds and only 20rounds- from single action, no less.....but they were in the black at least, just not very consistent given what I know this gun can do.
    :dunno:

Still, lots of fun. No jams.

Solid shooting, but not your best. Let's blame the ammo.

Cool pistola. Looks like its just the right size.

The Rugers that I have had really shined with some trigger work.

I love the small frame Blackhawks. My 4 5/8" .44 Special has been fantastic. I recently added a .45 ACP Sheriff's model that is fast becoming a favorite also. Ruger waited a long time to start down this path, but they are knocking it out of the park now.

    Very nice Berto

I've got a standard Blackhawk in 44 Special and love it.

I love SA revolvers, but can't shoot them accurately

    Good report

I like the 44 Special. Remember my offer? If you ever take my up on it bring that Ruger with you. I load 44 Special by the buckets.

I have the same exact gun. Mine shoots VERY well. Keep practicing. I do find that the long hammer fall of an SA can be sometimes unforgiving compared to a DA revolver or auto.

I've done better with it, it really shoots the cowboy ammo and Fed LHP loads very well.
I almost want a rematch with the Silvertips.

I hope he's at least saving his brass.
