It looked even better after I installed a short stainless trigger.

I missed this post. Damn, I can't believe they went that quick. I was there when they got them in. I guess word travels fast for these. I'll send you a PM when they get some more, if you want me too.

    Congrats on the score.

The trigger, to me, needs a trigger job. Fit and finish look good. I'd have to change the sights, also. I tried my friend's SR1911. Probably one of the best ones for the price, under $1000.

  6. Consider your self lucky I was searching for one for over a year. And finally found one,On a web site in ILL. for $750.00 + Del & another $50.00 for my FFL dealer to bring it in on his license. Total at the end ran my apx $850.00 but I am totally Satisfied,To have even of found one within that price range & that was just in this past August 2012

I had to pay $750 for mine at gander on thanksgiving. Put a hundred rounds through it and no hick-ups. This one will be a keeper.

A local dealer had one on Armslist on Fri. night for $750.00
The next morning he was at a show and five people were there to see it when the doors opened. It sold immediately.

Nice! I haven't seen many SR1911s around here. I have some cash stored in case I find the TALO edition.

I'm doing some work in Fairbanks Alaska this week. Stopped by the BX on Eielson AFB today and they had the SR1911 for $545 tax free...damn.

  11. I have bought a couple at Ruger sponsered specials down here in the SW. Missed out last year, so this year got there when the store opened stood in the line and scored. I think the supply is catching up. I was at a gunstore down here a couple weeks ago and they had one in the regular case on display for about $679 and it had been there a day.
