Can't say I blame him. The tactics the TSA use are crazy, my father is always being harassed, searched, etc. This is why I refuse to fly, I'd rather drive for 20 hours than fly somewhere in 3 hours.

TSA does, in fact, need to refine their methods & procedures and add some common sense, but as far as this guy's situation is concerned... they were not asking too much of him.

I also heard that was a possibility.

Everyone knows the 4th amendment is old fashioned and was written by a bunch of racist white men wearing funny wigs. Welcome to the new America, papiere bitte.

Do you think it's OK for the TSA to molest whoever they'd like? I wouldn't want any guys grabbing my genitalia either. Rand Paul is a man who views himself as a citizen of a free state, not a subject of a police state, I can't say I blame him one bit for resisting the "pat down".

Not OK to molest. As I said before, they need to refine their procedures and add a lot of common sense. Unfortunately, there has to be security measures for airline travel. Unfortunately, we can thank the terrorists for the monster we now know as the TSA.

He didn't pass the body scan... therefore a pat down search was the next step. It's not about wanting to touch someone's junk. It's just a simple fact that the number one hiding place for any criminal activity, contraband, weapon, whatever... is the groin & butt area. Any cop, correctional officer, security specialist knows that. I admit, it sucks... just the nature of the beast. Plus, doesn't matter that he's a senator or a presidential candidate's son. Law is the same for him as it is anyone else.

:shocked:TSA preperation for Conentration/ Reeducation camp gaurds, Communism. Use a scale of values that we no longer possess in evaluating the terrorist threat. Wake up America or Amerika. Is it to late?

Quite possible they didn't know he was a senator at first. Does anybody here recognize EVERY senator, much less the majority of them? Very doubtful. A senator is still a citizen and the same applies to them as well as anyone else.

So when people dont pass the body scan, get patted down, and the TSA don't find anything.....what does that mean? Maybe the body scan machines are screwed up?

Rand says the scanner picked up something on his leg yet he showed them his leg and nothing was there....WTF? I think those scanners are BS.............

:rofl::rofl: Yep, I'm absolutely certain that's what it is. Security screening for airline travel is the devil.

Not quite. The Constitution says he cannot be arrested or detained while traveling to a session of the senate.

    http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/articlei

Section 6, Article 1 of the Constitution.

Where does it say that about everyone else?

    Same here.
We just forgot what TSA has been founded for - to catch potential terrorists. But instead of their main task they are just treating normal people like crap. How many terrorist have they actually caught since foundation (9 years ago)?
    None.
How many key-chain knives or manicure scissors have they seized and then sold on Ebay?
    Millions.
