The 10mm just came in to my local gun shop, was a fast turnaround because the warehouse is in the same state. While I filled out the paper work the shop guy cleaned off all the cosmoline, with my permission, so he and I could look at the gun. Well, we were very impressed right off the bat!!! Looked really well with the initial inspection, clean, tight, roll marks are straight. I was a happy camper!

Got her home and did a minor strip to see what I could find.

FINSH: The finish had some very minor blims, you have to be looking in good light just to see them.

BARRL: The barrel is a crowned bull barrel. I have included some pics showing the barrel with bullet seated.

SIGHTS: Front is a orange fiber optic and the rear is fully adjustable white dot.

TRIGGER: The trigger had a clean brake, it feels a little heaver than my Kimber, however still a nice trigger for a $600.00 1911 10mm.

FIT: I am very impressed with the fit, it is tight, no slop what so ever. There are some tool marks on the frame, very minor. Also, main spring housing is plastic, same as my Kimber.

    GRIPS: Grips are VZ stamped.

Here are a lot of pics.

Neat. I notice it doesn't have the full cut out at the slide stop window that Colt decided the Delta needed.

Congrats! I gotta get one. Been waiting for my G29 to sell first, but I don't want them to run out either. Besides, I can always sell the G29 later huh?

    Thanks for the great pictures!

The support looks as good or better than most. The Kimber may have a little bit more but this is easily tied with the Witness and Razorback like I have. Should be fine for full power Underwood or PBR.

Let us know how it runs!

  8. Looking forward to a range report.

    Congrats!

  9. Initially I didn't think the chamber support looked all that great. But after comparing it to the chamber support pictures posted on 10mmfirearms I would have to agree the support looks pretty good.

    Thanks for that information.

Did you get a chance to look at the firing pin stop? Curious about the bottom edge cut.

I think he meant with the slide retracted back. Trying to see if it is a flat bottom or if they put an angle cut on the firing pin block. What it looks like from the pictures my take:

    - Finish looks like the biggest downer on it. Guess that can always be fixed
    - Barrel looks good to go
    - Fit looks pretty good
    - I don't like dots on a rear sight with a fiber front. Give me all black
    - Can't really tell what the frame composition is but time will tell

I racked the slides of two of my 1911's, placed them slide side down (to stabilize the guns) to take this photo. The 1911 on the left is in 10mm and has a flat bottom firing pin stop (FPS). The one on the right is in .45 ACP and the bottom of the FPS is rounded,

I like a flat one on a 10mm, but it's not a showstopper in that the part costs around $15 and takes a moment to fashion and install.

Was wondering which was standard on the RIA.

I will be interested in a range report. To me the barrel construction looks quite poor. The rest of the gun looks pretty good though.
