I just found out that four Marines from one of my old battalions, the 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, 4th Marine Division, were killed in Iraq earlier this week. They were part of Charlie Company (I served in Bravo Company for four years), which was activated last June and was due to leave Iraq in April. They were attached to the 24th Marines and operated in Anbar Province, deep in the heart of the Sunni Triangle.

I've lost two Marine friends in Iraq (plus one on 9/11 and one in Afghanistan), and while I didn't know any of these men, I'm just numb today.

Say a prayer for them, if you will.
