What would be needed if one wants to try out rifle matches?
e.g mags, mag pouches etc etc

Is it the same as pistol na there are different divisions?
What div will I fall in if I use a 16" iron sights (A2) fixed stock AR?

You need only a rifle and a few magazines to shoot an IPSC Rifle match. There are 4 Divisions- Open Semi-auto, standard semi-auto, Open Manual and Standard manual. Your set-up would fit best in Standard semi-auto. Open and Standard are basically differentiated by having a scope or not. See the IPSC website for a copy of the IPSC Rifle rules.

armscor marikina would be the nearest, there was only 1 match in the past two years, iirc. long distance shooting is what makes ipsc rifle fun. hence, the popular ranges are pnpa in silang, clark eagle, calatagan, splendido (if open pa). lately, most matches are in pnpa, there was one in calatagan last december. there will be a level 2 rifle match in calatagan again on the first weekend of april just before holyweek.

Check the PPSA calendar of matches (www.ppsa.org.ph). In October, the Philippines will be hosting the IPSC Australasia 3-Gun Championship in Clark and Camp O'Donnell. It will have 16 handgun, 8 shotgun and 8 rifle stages.

so if your rifle has iron sights but has a bi-pod, is it still categorized as standard division? :)

Plus, there is a 2008 PNP Memo / Guidelines on the conduct of matches.

One of the notables in paper would be that
    - only PPSA members are allowed to compete
    - barrel length should be at least 14.5"
    - 'bag' rule; slinging the rifle from stage-to-stage in not permitted
    - no full-auto (I don't if 'mode' equates to capability; as we do have the semi-auto mode)
    - no run-and-gun stages
