When it first came out I was quite excited, then I watched the first episode. It was pretty bad. It recently came to Netflix, so, I thought I would give it another try. I am happy to report that there is nothing wrong with me, and the show is still bad. I do not know how they made it through the first season. I don't know if it has been renewed, I do not care.

Terra Nova was not perfect, but at least it was watchable. I do not understand. Are we asking too much for a good SHTF series on TV? Why does it seem so difficult to do?

    Hollywood is involved.
BTW the season premiere is the 25th. I've been watching it, not the best TV ever but it's something different than the 4000 Law & Orders and CSI shows out there.

I kinda like it..even tho its a little far-fetched.. OK a LOT far-fetched...started out with Crossbows and Swords now they have Tanks & helicopter gunships + unlimited ammo supplies ..MacGyver got nothing over on them !!!

  4. Funny this show came up. Just started watching it this past weekend on Netflix. I needed to get past the wool clothing and sword play...with being 15 years after going dark, I felt like it was 100 yrs after. But, when getting deeper into the 'plot' I got a little more into it. Some of the show is a little weird, but overall I'm at episode 10 and will finish it up.

Good SHTF, Good comedy, Good Drama, good anything is asking too much.

I'm sticking w/ Breaking bad. The S hits the fan at a cat 5 level most weeks.

I finished watching it on Netflix a couple weeks ago.

The plot makes little sense and I found myself shouting at the TV "Geez Louise, just kill the SOB!" over and over and over again. That applied to more than one character in that show. On the other hand I am ashamed to admit that I did watch the whole thing.

About the last decent SHTF show that I've seen was Jericho.

Zombie apocolypse is a form of SHTF and so The Walking Dead should be mentioned. I do like Revolution though, its tough finding anything good on TV any more and I'll take revolution over Days of our Lives any day. :D

The show is stupid, but I watch it. The main thing, besides all the ridiculousness of it all, is the look on the main chicks face all the time. Like a deer in the headlights look. Can't stand it.

    *****SPOILER ALERT!******

Okay, now that the lights are back on everything just "works"? Bull****!

High order technology won't just work after 15 years. Gas will be varnish, with out regular maintinance Hueys wont fly, even a hummer wont work. The power grid just magically works with 15 years of no upkeep? I will suspend disbelief on a lot of things, but this show was awesome until they started using all high order tech with out any thought.

I think that the writers changed and here we are.

Well if the viewing audience can accept that there are microscopic robots causing the problem to begin with... everything else should be cake.

I suspend credibility , fantasize what it would really be like after SHTF, and accept it for what it is..

I started watching it a couple of weeks ago. The pilot showed promise, but then, it boiled down to poor casting, poor acting, and weak plot elements. The brother (the dude that is supposed to be such a badass) is just not believable. I watched about 5 episodes and didn't see it going anywhere.

I miss Lost. For all its flaws, it kept me watching. There was always new stuff going on. It ended poorly, but I thing the producers did that on purpose.

So, some here have mentioned Terra Nova and Jerico? I will have to give those a look. Thanks.

I forgot about Jericho, it was pretty good. Probably the best of all the SHTF shows as of late. I really liked the premise of Terra Nova, they just did not develop it well enough.

I suffered through the first season. That was enough.

Yeah revolution was pretty bad. I was so excited about it and watched 3 episodes and thought this was just stupid. That show about the submarine I thought was going to be really good and it was disappointing. So unrealistic and dumbed down.

1 so I watched recently was a British show called survivors. It was maybe 10 episodes and was pretty engaging. It did have an anti gun span. There weren't that many guns but only bad people have them. But that's Britain for you. Overall pretty good show. I wish they ran it more seasons
