Thinking about getting one of these Reublic Wireless hybrid WIFI phones using WIFI when networks around and then Sprint 3G the rest of the time.

    Android with Google Play apps.

Buy the Motorola DEFY XT phone for $250 and then $19 thereafter no contract.

Wife would use for some light/moderate data/Internet and some texting and calls. Probably around WIFI 40%. Kids are heavy texters. I'd be a heavy data user.

I'm currently using a corporate iPhone with Verizon 3G and am happy but would like a personal phone.

Any one owning this phone with Republic?

I don't have this, but recall looking into this a year or two ago. Back then it had a limit on how many minutes, texts and data you can use when not connected to wireless. The point of this plan was you will be utilizing it on wireless (internet phone) as opposed to the Sprint network which it uses when not connected to wireless....I guess they got rid of that, because I'm not seeing it now.

Looks like MMS doesn't work though, but that seems minor to me.

Only thing I can say about it is if the Sprint network sucks where you are at, you may want to look elsewhere. Also, you're locked into using the Motorola Defy. Unless they changed their policy, that is the only phone you can use on their plan. No idea on how crappy or awesome of a phone that is.

Yes, only one phone. Hybrid wifi and Sprint network. No MMS.

    Thanks.

    Any Republic Wireless users???
