Is the rear dovetail of the Remington R1 a standard dovetail, maening, would I be able to swap out sights?

Ya just get ones made for the R1. No dovetail is "standard" from my understanding, some manufacturers use different angles for there dovetails. If I am wrong someone please correct me.

The 1911 board says the Remington R1 standard model has a regulation GI rear sight dovetail. The original Colt dovetail is kind of an odd one, a 65 deg angle instead of the usual 60 deg, but it IS standardized for all true 1911s, with tough Army inspectors making sure of interchangeability.

Of course you have to consider sight height when changing them out.

I would call up Brownells tech support. Those guys have been able to answer a lot of questions in regards to compatability for me over the years.
