My wife is working on her teaching credential and is recording a lot of science/educational stuff off cable for use in her class. The people in her credential class and some of the teachers at the school where she's subing and doing student teaching are asking her to re-burn a lot of stuff off the tivo and that takes a lot of time cause its only a 1x process.

I want to get her an external DVD burner so she can plug it into her lap top, but the master disk in the laptop, and copy the dvd onto a new DVD in an external drive.

Can anyone recommend a good quality external burner with software that will produce good quality (not buggy) copies with a decent copy speed? I'd like to spend something in the $100 to $150 range.

I didnt see that one at CompUSA..... I ended up comming home with the Iomega "Superburner 16x16". It was the highest rated unit I could find on Cnet.
