It's my first time replacing recoil springs so I'm a little ignorant ... bear with me.

What recoil springs should I purchase for a Kahr P40? Anyone have a favorite vendor? On Midway USA they only list them for the K series and not for the P Series which seems odd. I presume (ahem) that I need a set of the 22lb recoil springs for the P40. Is that the correct one to get?

My otherwise flawless P40 has had a few slide lock issues as of the last time I was out. Shot 250 rounds and had six incidents of it going into slide lock even though there were rounds in the magazine. No one magazine stood out as the sole offender. I only use genuine Kahr mags. The gun has about 5 or 6 thousand rounds through it and I've owned it for six years.

All advice welcome and appreciated. Thanks!

I get all of my replacement parts right from KahrShop. There you can just buy the recoil spring or a whole spring replacement kit. I believe they use wolff springs.

by the way, the new spring will seem like it's way too long and a little hard to get in at first. Don't worry about that, it'll settle in over time.

Thanks for the heads-up. I ordered one through the Kahr shop after reading the thread yesterday. I'm looking forward to testing it out
