    Potential Number Of Units Affected : 4841
    Summary:
    ON CERTAIN CALIFORNIA-SPECIFICATION MODEL MOTORCYCLES, REPEATED STRESS FROM VIBRATION CAN CAUSE A CRACK TO FORM IN THE AREA WHERE THE LIQUID/VAPOR SEPARATOR BRACKET IS WELDED INSIDE THE FUEL TANK. THIS CAN ALLOW FUEL LEAKAGE TO OCCUR.
    Consequence:
    FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE CAN RESULT IN A FIRE.
    Remedy:
    DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL TANK FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN IN FEBRUARY 2006. CUSTOMERS MAY CONTACT AMERICAN SUZUKI AT 714-572-1490.

  2. I'm thinking of getting an SV 650 for use as a track bike. Man, if I was on fire other riders would get out of my way!! :)

    It's a spin on Richard Pryor, from when he ran down the road on fire after free basing cocaine. ;c

    Note that it said "California Spec" bikes.

    I have a 49 state. Sometime the left coast models with their special
    epa stuff is just too complex and malfunctions. Fix it be a fireman. Good luck and Ride Safe.:)

    I have read on the SoCal SV650 Riders forum that people have been having this problem for awhile. Glad to hear it's not on my bike. I might call anyway to be sure.
