Just had a friend pick me up a set of RCBS .30-30 WIN. dies from Bass Pro. What does the WCF stand for on the plastic case it came in? it states: F L die set .30-30 WCF. FL stands for full length but what about WCF?

Also, What is your favorite powders and primers that you use when reloading >30-30 Win? This is for a Marlin 03030.

I think you might be right. I have once see this on a revolver for a .44-40. Nice handgun also.

Correct. When winchester first brought them out the term they used was Winchester Central Fire, later changed to winchester center fire.
Most all of their cartridges were tagged WCF,example 32 WCF aka 32-20,38 WCF aka 38-40, 44 WCF aka 44-40.

Then as now Marlin was opposed to marking their firearms with WCF and that is where the # - # designation came from.
Just as Glock marks their firearms 40 instead of 40 S&W,357 instead of 357 Sig. SJ 40

Any large rifle primer. For powders if it's jacketed bullets Winchester 748 or Hodgdon H-335 and for cast bullet loads IMR 3031. SJ 40
