Well I picked up a G36 in trade last weekend and finally made it to the range to try it out.
Shot around 100 rounds of 230 gr ball ammo thru it...
I was pleasently surprised with this gun, I am used to the caliber as I shoot 1911's most of the time and I have to admit that the 36 outperformed my favorite 1911.
Recoil was no more than the recoil of my wifes G26, very slight, it is very accurate as well, at 7 yrds only one ragged hole from 2 mags, 21 yards the hole was larger but still one ragged hole.
I was ready for more recoil being a polymer gun and all but Glock figured it out and hit the nail on the head with this model!!!
I believe I have a new carry weapon, thinner, lighter and just as accurate and fun to shoot as my 1911, so now I have choices! lol...

I now understand why all of you that own the 36 say its your favorite gun!

    Definately a keeper!

Anybody have a 36 and a 39? Can you give some comparison pluses and minuses?

Congrats jt! While it isn't my favorite Glock or 45 ACP I really do like my 36. Like you I was pleasantly surprised that a 23 ounce 45 could handle recoil so well.

I also went from a 1911 to a 36. It's a combat pistol design to be carried during your waking hours. My girl calls the G36 my other girl friend.
