I purchased a Kahr / Auto Ordnance M1 carbine. The rifle shoots great. The only problem I have is that the rifle shoots high. I changed out the sights and put on mil spec adjustable rear sights that I got from Numrich. I've got the sights set as low as they'll go, but to hit a man size silhouette target in the chest area at 50 or 100 yards I have to aim at the belt buckle. I talked to a WWII vet who told me it was no big deal and said that was common with the M1.

Is this common for the M1? I've got the rear adjustable sights set as far forward and down as they'll go. Have I adjusted them in the correct way or should they go up and back? I'd like to have the point of bullet impact match the point of aim. Do I need to have a gunsmith make a sight adjustment, and if so what adjustment? All information will be appreciated. Thanks!

You need a taller front sight. You will probably have to file it down(carefully) to sight it in.
