Question about cellular service

    I have a friend currently using Sprint who is about to deploy to the sandbox with the ArmyNG and wishes to know which provider is best to use overseas.

    I think the "sandbox" use only GSM, no CMDA which sprint use will work. Also I don't think your friend will want to make a lots of calls back to the state, unless your friend want to see a big roaming charge!

    tell him not to worry about it. calling cards are cheaper and to find a list of CONUS DSN numbers to use instead. if hes hell bent on having a cell phone, he can pick on up over there and use prepaid simcards.
