I would like to get an AR-15 for my next firearm. I do not know much about them other than some basic research I have done. I know that Colt and BCM are considered good companies. My birthday is coming up and I would like to ask for gift certificates toward buying one. Any recommendations on the best way to do this? I know BCM sells gift certificates, but not sure about Colt. Is this a feasible idea or am I better off trying to work this some other way or through some general firearms website (say impactguns.com)?? Thanks in advance for any advice!

My vote would definitely be for the BCM. You would have to go with a dealer if you decide on the Colt

I'm a fan of midlengths so I would, and did, skip the Colt. BCM, Daniel Defense, LMT, and Noveske are all good choices.

Another option if you want to go the gift card route are to ask for Visa gift cards then you can use them anywhere.
