    In Him.
While I have always been a big fan of Victorinox and Wenger Swiss Army knives, I have FINALLY come to the conclusion that their blade steel is pretty poor in edge holding quality. It is excellent for stainless, but my other knife steels seem to sharpen easier and hold edges far better.

you're correct. new particle and specialty knife steels vastly exceed the capabilities of 'generic' stainless.

shouldn't matter much if you keep'em sharp. I don't care for the steel OR the knives, would rather be forced to use a second-hand opinel as a last resort.

    sure is rostfrei, though. ;)

I have always wondered what steel was used in some of my SAK but researching it can be a pain. Mine dont hold an edge well and are very easy to sharpen. I have never yet had a rust issue with any of my swiss army knives.
