Q: Hunters, how much do you spend per year on lic

Discussion in 'Hunting, Fishing & Camping' started by noway, Apr 13, 2004.

  1. I was talking to various people out of state on their hunters license and was curious to see just what you spend per year? Here's what I spent per year just for one complete season/breakdown.

    Salt/Freshwater & hunter combo = $65
    Federal Duck Stamp = $15
    State waterfowl permit = $3
    Wild Turkey permit = $5
    WMA permit = $20
    snook permit = $5

    Having a good time = PRICELESS ;)

So it looks like the state and federal gov gets plenty from me in just license and permits. I make sure that I get the most out of them when possible

I also feel bad for the non-resident license users, since they really get hammer'd by the state. ( i.e my uncle came down here for a week and I got him the non-resident fishing license and it was almost $20.00 for 7 days of fishing )

    Let's see

    AZ General Hunting/Fishing Combo $44
    AZ Mtn Lion Tag: $11
    AZ Dove Stamp: $3

Big Game tags (refundable if not drawn)
    AZ Deer: $22.50
    AZ Elk: $76.50
    AZ Black Bear: $18
    AZ Javelina: $16

If I happen to get drawn for a duck hunt in OH than add on:
    Federal Duck Stamp: $15
    OH State Duck Stamp: $15
    OH 3 day Non-res Hunting License: $40

If the duck hunt falls during deer season add:
OH Non-res Year License(need the year license for deer): $125
OH Non-res special deer permit: $24

At the least I'm spending $58 a year on license and tags. If I get drawn for everything I apply for and it falls on the right dates $370.

    Well worth it.

    My hunting/fishing cost is $0.00.
If you manage to reach age 65, Okla. issues you a lic, that only expires when you expire.
  4. yeap FL is the same way. I think alot of states gives a big discount for the seniors citizens.

    Mm..looks like heaven
    KY -

    Sportsmen license $80
Deer tag (good for 1 antlered & 1 anterless)
    Spring turkey
Fall turkey (both archery & shotgun, two different tags)
    Trout stamp
    Waterfowl stamp

The only other thing I need is a $5 migratory bird permit for dove hunting. Not too bad, I don't think. Plus, I don't mind paying the fees, since Fish & Wildlife receive NO funds from the general tax base. Their $$ comes from licensing & boat registrations.

I bought a lifetime licence in both Kansas and Oklahoma. Oklahoma's licence is really a better deal since you never have to buy game tags. However, I do most of my hunting in Kansas and having a lifetime license there allows me to purchase game tags as if I were a resident (at the resident price).
Both of these licenses ran me just under a grand (for both) - it was money very well spent.

The cost of license is miniscule to what I and my parners spend on Habitat improvements just to get to hunt quality deer. This cost also helps to improve the lands value as well.Everyone benefits, game and hunter alike. But the license cost is miniscule,$45.00 or $50.00 to hunt, fish and trap.On a day by day basis it cost more to buy a cup of coffee than it does to buy the license.
  8. back tag 20, archery 20 , muzzleloader 11, migratory 3, duck stamp 15,4 or five doe tags at 6 bucks per and 22 on fishing, thats just in PA!
  9. I spend about $100 to $150 for various Colorado tags depending on if I'm lucky enough to draw Pronghorn and Bear tags. I also buy a non-res Nebraska small game because I have hunting access on a large farm with millions of doves. I only get a couple days up there each year, but the shooting is worth it.:)

$30 for a combo hunting/fishing license, reasonable prices for tags for any animal, really....Idaho also has a Sportsmen's Package, which gives you hunting/fishing comb. plus tags for turkey, deer, elk, bear, cougar and a federal duck stamp for $107. Hell of a good deal....

all of my licences for the year (bird and deer) total less than $50. i grew up in florida and learned to fish nothing but saltwater and living in the middle of alabama there is none so i dont have a fishing lic.
  13. {My hunting partner bought me a

    I have a good hunting partner.}

That's the best way to go. I just had convince my friend to get his 16yr old a lifetime sportman lic. It cost him $501.00 plus admin fee. And he is set for freshwater +hunting with all of the regular permits ( bow/muzzeloader/turkey/waterfowl/ ). He has to buy absolutely nada for the rest of his life except the federal duck stamp if he plans on hunting ducks&geese. All in all, he spent less than $700 buying him his first shotgun, case of shells, dragging him to hunter ED and getting a license.

Yeap it is great something to be Kid. ;f

Arkansas Combo Sportsman license costs $35.50. That is a fishing license ($10.50) and a resident combo hunting license ($25.00). The hunting license allows all small game hunting, deer modern gun, archery and MZ, turkey and predator/furbearer, basically all hunting. This doesn't include a trout stamp or the state and federal duck stamps. $35.50 gets me everything I hunt and fish for.

WOW you guys have it great. In Washington my fishing licensee was $46.00 and a Deer tag is $39.00. This year I am going to hunt and fish in Or. the non-res hunting licensee is $76.00 and the deer tag is an additional $254.00 if I am drawn. The non-res fish license is $82.00. So if I draw my hunt in Or. I will spend around 500.00 just to hunt and fish this year.

Don't tell anyone, but sixty wheels in Georgia buys a resident Sportsman's License, including small game, big game, fresh and saltwater fish (including trout), and a Wildlife Management Area permit. Migratory bird permit (dove & woodcock) is required but free.
