Ive been hearing lately that there is a free public range thats under an hour from greenville (30-45 min drive) but no one seems to have exact directions. Does anyone one know where this is? Its nothing fancy but if you bring your own targets/ammo then you shoot for free.... any info is greatly appriciated! :wavey:

Take 385 South to I 26 - On 26 take the first exit (52) - Go left - About 3/4 of a mile after passing Blue Ocean take a right on Barrel Stave road - Stay on Barrel Stave road until you come to the first crossroads - Turn right - The range (Philson Crossroads) is on the first gravel road on your left - The range is located at the end of this road (1/8 mile) - Range is about a 40 minute drive from Simpsonville.

You will need to take some type of target stand. I use the political signs that were left after the local elections. This is a public range opened 7 days a week. Do not shoot anything but some type of target. DNR does patrol and will ticket people shooting something other than targets.
