Worst case scenario, just take the gas block off, work it over with a belt sander or some files until it's small enough, and hit it with some cold blue or high-temp engine paint, and you're good to go.

That said, I would bet that the gas block fits under that rail with zero issues. It is a fairly wide diameter.

I have already cut off the Delta ring, spring set, and clip. The MI rail is in the mail.

I put a MI OD Green freefloat rail on my PSA middy.

The pin holes where the front site was mounted are still visible. Not an issue for me really, this is my "getting work done" rifle. It got real front heavy when I switched out the MOE hand guards, so I had to put a VLTOR on the rear to balance it. Comes in a just over 8.5lbs loaded.

Not too shabby after free floating it. Here is a 10 shot group I fired after installing the MI rail.

Its a 10 shot group using SS109 hand loads at 100yds. This one is the best of 5 groups. Worst of the 5 was just over 2.5". For testing I used a Vortex Viper Diamondback 3-9x off a front bag.

I'm leaving the front sight on. Removing it is "optional", right? :faint:
