Some may remember a project S&W highway Patrolman I had Customized.

Well, I am pleased to announce there is a sequel, and it is finished!
I purchased this S&W Highway Patrolman from a Sergeant I work with for $200.00. It had a 6" barrel that had a buldge in it, had some rust, and minor pitting. Overall it was a good solid S&W revolver.
This is the way the Highway Patrolman looked originally. It's hard to tell from the photograph, the buldged barrel.

This has been a project, about 1.5 years in the making.

I purchased a 4" barrel here on the S&W forum. The Highway Patrolman was then taken to Mag-Na-Port for the project.

    Customizing the Highway Patrolman:
*Barrel was cut & crowned to 2.75"
    *Front sight was re-installed
*Cylinder & Slide Extreme Duty rear sight installed Extreme Duty Fixed Rear Sight without Dots for K-L-N Frame Revolver
*Grip frame was converted to a "round butt"
*Barrel & cylinder were sent to Bowen to be bored out to .44 Special + B O W E N + Bowen Classic Arms - Custom Revolvers, Pistols and Guns Repair and Pistolsmithing
*Custom Elk Horn grips by patrick Grashorn Home
    *Trigger job, and blue refinished.

Prior to being finished, Mag-Na-Port had me pick up the Highway Patrolman. I took it to the range, and fired it to make sure the sights were "regulated". They were, it fired just fine.

That is an inspiring project with a great result. I may have to consider a similar project to get exactly what I want in a snubbie.

    Thanks!

    Gorgeous. Very nicely done.
The Highway Patrolman/28's are really starting to get scarce and prices are climbing, but with a ringed bbl, I'd be all over a project like that.
