Looking for a primitive camping spot in arkansas (prefer northern). Would like to find something where we are pretty much by ourselves, firearm freindly, and rivers or fishing is a plus. Let me know if you guys know of anything.

    Thanks
    Casey

There's lots and lots of primitive camping in Arkansas. Three places that I would look into would be Lost Valley near Ponca on the Buffalo River; White Rock mountain area; Lake Fort Smith. http://www.agfc.com/resources/Pages/ResourcesMaps.aspx. I primitive camp south of St Paul for deer hunting every year and love it (not much fishing around though).

I'm sure some other folks have different suggestions.

    Good luck!

ETA: also try Hobbs St Park...they have a gun range...but you need to double check their gun regs. Also beware of Corp of Engineer areas as they don't allow firearms on their sites.
