What is the going rate for a springfield professional?

    New and gently used?

I didn't know they were that expensive. I have been toying with the idea of getting rid of some of the stuff that I do not use that often and buying one nice gun with the cash. I was thinking about getting a Sig 210, S&W 952 or a nice 1911.

Is the springfield a good alternative to a semi custom?

IMO, the Springfield Custom Shop is one of the top semi-custom shop's.

if the price of the Professional is a little steep, consider getting a Custom Carry built to your specs. They start at ~$1800 before you start adding options. THe Professional is just a Custom Carry that the FBI had spec'd out for their needs.

BTW, when a Professional is made, they do not know if the finished gun is going to an FBI agent or a public consumer.

I am still early in the process of deciding what I want. I do not mind paying for something that I like but I want to make sure that I pick it the first time as I do not have enough coin to sell it and buy another one in that price range.
