My best friend was deployed in Afganistan till a couple nights ago. I got a call letting me know that he had had a hemorage in his brain and had been flown out asap to Germany. Hes just been moved to DC and will hopefully be getting moved back to GA, where all his family and freinds are for rehab. From what I have been told he reported numbness in his hand, which then moved down the side of his body. They also noticed his speech was sluring a little, which got worse. Hes currently having to have assistance while walking and his speech is badly slurred. Thankfully his thoughts and everything else is fine what what i understand. I was told the doctors had seen this multiple times before and that sometimes people can recover in as soon as 3 weeks, just varies. As of 2 nights ago it wasnt bad enough to go in and do surgery either. Hopefuly it stays that way and he can recover fast. Hes just really down about it all right now and could use some prayers. It was his first deployment and he had been over for a couple months. I think a bunch of us are gona make a road trip up there in the next 2 weeks to see him and cheer him up if he doesnt get transfered to GA before then. Thanks in advance

    Jeremy

Combat is the most stressful activity known to man. No doubt.

Many prayers and good thoughts heading his way. Let him know that us Veterans are with him 100%.

I just talked to him. He's barely understandable but he's trying his hardest. His dad said that its gotten worse since yesterday. They ran a MRI at 3 and will hopefully find some more out. His dad said the doc said they will know a lot more tomorrow afternoon. Thank-you for your prayers for him.

The prayers are workin miracles. The team of neurosurgeons decided yesterday that he is having issues due to necrosis of cells at his brain stem from prior cancer treatments he had when he was a child. They thought it may have been a tumor earlier in the day, but sometime last night they came back with the good news that it wasnt. They are planning to start him on some steroids today, which may help his speech issue, and then hopefully soon start treating him in other way for the necrosis of the cells. Me, 2 buddies, and his brother are headed up to dc tomorrow after we get off work to see him. cant wait
