Requesting prayers for my back surgery tomorrow. (If not so inclined, well wishes would be pretty good, too!)

I having: Left L4-5 minimally invasive laminoforaminotomy for resection of a synovial cyst, and a left L5-S1 minimally invasive diskectomy. (Whew!)

At any rate, I'm off work for 6 weeks, but I expect a speedy recovery none the less.

Thanks for all the evening entertainment, guys! :wavey:

On the bright side, let the nurse know you feel filthy and require a sponge bath

    :tbo:

    Best of luck!

Prayers sent. You should be ok, it's a lot easier to recover from a surgery like that than if you get the cages, scews and rods.

My prayers haven't been all that successful lately but maybe this one will be answered just to shut me up for a couple of days.

    Prayers sent.

    Good luck jame :wavey:

Had similar surgery on my L4/L5 a couple of years back... Laminectomy and discectomy(?)... I was in constant pain before and have felt much much better since. I was back to work (limited activity) after a week and actually useful and able to do my entire job in probably 3-4 weeks. I still fight back soreness off and on, but it is nothing like before the surgery. It was definitely the right thing to do.

Best wishes sent and I am sure you will do great.

Best wishes. Let us know how post op progresses.

Can't pronounce them all but I need back surgeries too. Not ready to take the risks.

I've had three back surgeries, open laminectomies/diskectomies all... I trust you're having a neurosurgeon do this for you? :dunno:

Anyway, the odds are, you'll come through it just fine!

And while the post-op pain immediately after can range from bad to intensely nasty, they've got the very best drugs waiting for you... :freak:

God bless! Get your butt back here! :wavey:

My wife had a diskectomy done. Before surgery she was bedridden. She was up walking good as new within hours of getting out with surgery. After the surgery goes perfectly smooth for you your going to feel like a million bucks.
