Please pass to the Marines and friends the following. Sat. Sept. 15 at 1100 LCpl Adam Taff from Nolensville, TN collapsed during light physical training at the HTC (Reserve Center). His heart ceased and he quit breathing on his own. The company corpsmen were able to provide immediate assistance and begin CPR and rescue breathing. It took 12 minutes for the paramedics to defibrillate LCpl Taff’s heart back into rhythm. It took 5 attempts to be successful. There is no known reason for the incident as the training was very light and he was in great condition. He was taken directly to Vanderbilt Medical Cardiac ICU Center. His current status is critical. Please tell the Marines to pray for him and his family during this very tough time.

LCpl Taff has just returned from Iraq at the end of April. He survived a very challenging tour of duty there. It is a big shock and very tough for everyone to comprehend at this time. His parents are at the hospital. If you get time, please go by and see them. His mother’s name is Lynn. Let the RS Marines know and if his recruiter is still on deck pass the word so they can offer there support.

At this time LCpl Taff is making improvements by the minute. The last word I got was that he is awake and is talking. Still a bit groggy and still has a way to go yet. The cause is still undetermined. Lets keep him in our prayers and let the Marines know that he is doing better and better.
