I cannot find ANY info on using Power Pistol for a 180gr XTP. I'm using straline cases and CCI300 primers for my stock G20sf. I just want to develop a sensible self defense load. Thanks in advance.

Chuck11976, I collect the data over many years of handloading (33+), if you wish I'll email you a PDF from the data I posted. But that is all they show for the 10mm using a 180 grain JHP bullet. I have tested this data from my guns, Power Pistol is a little faster than Blue Dot and using a little less makes it more ecconomical.

You can't collect enough data resourse materials to make decisions.

I have hornady data from circa 1991 and it has a max charge of 8.4

Alliant used to list a max of 8.7 for 1240 FPS and a pressure they claimed of 34K. Not sure why alliant no longer lists power pistol for 180 grain, makes no sense whatsoever. I have had best luck with power pistol with this weight range. My recipe is simple, 8.5 grain with any 180 grain bullet and winchester WLP primer (in between mag and standard), clocks 1300 from my 6 inch barrel.

OhioGlock Man the 8.7 grain load is what i posted for him in the powder stickys up top.

I use 8.0 grains of PP under the 200 grain XTP's they run between 1180-1200 fps, good powder in short barrel guns...like the G-29

Wow, Shadow your experience with power pistol indicates its a great powder for the 200 grain range too, and I know its a great powder for the 155 grainers because I launch them at 1500 FPS with power pistol from my 6 inch barrel.

Why do you think alliant does not have more loads listed with it in 10mm???

Well Speer doesn't have the 200 grain bullets anymore in 0.400" which is damn shame, I would like a 200 Gold Dot.

ATK is the company that sells Alliant powders, CCI products and Speer Products. They have put out very limited data these days, I see it as, they are trying to sell powder and reloading manuals. It seems they can keep up with the Gold Dot bullet production for handloaders as they churn out the bullets for Federal and others.
These shortages have driven up cost also... :(

I've used 8.5gr with 180gr Montana Gold JHP bullets, which I mention because they are essentially identical to the 180gr XTP in dimensions. Hovered around 1200 fps from G20sf, book max is 8.7gr.

There's an entire page of loading info in the 8th and 9th edition of Hornady's manual, which included Power Pistol for 180gr XTP.

Would you please post that page here. I would really appreciate being exposed to see that info. If you could take a photo of the page and post it here I would be ever so greatful.
