Those quotes alone made my head hurt. Does that come about often on this forum?

Probably the dumbest things I keep hearing are that you can isolate your upper/middle/lower chest by changing the angle of a bench press, and that you can actually shape muscles instead of just making them bigger or smaller or losing fat off them. Some people don't have the genetics to get enormous peaks on their biceps, yet they think turning their wrist and doing preacher curls fixes all that.

Those quotes are common in the general forum, yes.

    Not in this specific forum.

Are you the same Berfles that posts on wannabebig?

  6. Most (?) bodybuilding books encourage wanna-bee Dorian-Arnold-Lee Schwartz-en-Yate-eys; no sales if the truth is widely told.

Not strictly bad workout advice but...

I work with a guy that I've known since our college days. Over the past 25 years, he's done no exercise and eaten whatever he wanted. (A big bowl of ice cream every night before bed, etc.) Put on 150+ pounds. But he held that he was perfectly healthy because his measured cholesterol numbers stayed constant around 150 - 160.

I visited him in the hospital just after his quad-bypass this spring. His cholesterol still measured below 160...
