Someone in another thread wanted to see photos of early G19's. I didn't want to hijack that thread so I started this one. Please post some photos of your older G19's.

My G19 was manufactured in Dec 1988 and I purchased it in 1989. Someone told me it was a Gen 2 G19 based on the serial number. I don't shoot as much as a lot of you. I estimate I've put approximately 1000 rounds through it. The only issue I've had with it is I had to replace the slide release lever and spring. My original spring broke and the slide would lock back after every shot. I replaced it with an extended slide release lever and it's been flawless ever since. PS. My original magazines developed cracks over the years and are no longer serviceable.

Anyway, here are a couple photos. Please post yours.

Below is my first attempt at adding a laser. I now have a Crimson Trace Laser on it. I may use the front rail piece to add a light.

Oh, is this why you asked in the other thread to see a pic of my 1st generation. lol I personally don't like posting on line pics of my stuff.

But I will tell you that what you pictured is a 2nd generation. See the checkering on the front and back of the pistol grip? That is 2nd generation. 1st generations are smooth.

Very nice! I like the Gen 3s for all but the 19/23, because the finger grooves on those models are a little cramped for my enormous monkey paws. I have a Gen 2 23 on my list...after this thread I may need to add a 19 as well.

It has a lot of finish wear after years of use.

Hard to find one of the rare 1st gen G19's. But, if you look hard and are lucky, the 2nd gen G19's are about as perfect as you can get in a Glock. Right size, right caliber, right mag count.
My 2nd gen G17 is the next best thing. And I have a very reliable AA .22lr kit on top of it to boot.

I always thought the 2nd gen were the best looking Glocks.

Is it just me or was the hump almost non-existent in Gen 2's? If so, I must have one!

No the hump is not non-existent but the lack of finger grooves makes the grip feel slightly less girth "ish".

The first generation G17, G17L pebbling even feels less bulky.

I miss my old Gen 2 G19 I had years ago. I'm looking for another one now just to have for the nostalgia.

Otherwise, I only have pics of my Gen 3 and Gen 4 G19's :p

Can the Gen 2 frame be interchanged w/ the Gen 3's?

Here is my G19 that was stolen in 1992 and returned to me by the LAPD about two months ago. Was told it was used in a string of bank robberies. Has all the original black parts, un-captured recoil spring and 15 rd mag. I will be meeting an armorer next month for the upgraded internals....

I bought a new unfired 96 Gen 2 G19 a couple years ago. Sold it to a buddy. About a month ago, I bought it back. Shoots great. Added Trijicon GL01 Night sights and a Ghost connector.
Now has alittle holster wear because of the Kydex, but I like it. These older finishes wear very easily compared to the new shiny finish on my Gen 3 G19

I have heard they made some Glock 19 guns with rails but no finger groove. Someone said they were like Gen 2.5 guns. Is this true? And does anyone have one? If so please post pictures.
