Evening everyone, Normally I only frequent the Kentucky forum as I am born and raised here but thought everyone on here could provide some insight if possible. My wife just returned from LSU job interview and like it. She hasn't got the job yet but I thought some research would be in order. Sorry if this is too many questions but I have lot on my mind so any and all answers are appreciated. Any comments or pictures of the area in general would be appreciated also. I currently have CCW license here, how difficult to get a CCW there and any wierd issues to your CCW rules? I have several vehicles that won't pass smog or noise in the "liberal minded" states. Kentucky is pretty noninvasive on your vehicles. How's down there? How big is NASCAR there? What's the hunting like in the Baton Rouge area? What's the general outdoor activities most people do? Any funny gun laws? I have several full capacity handguns, semi auto rifles and shotguns and would like to get a .50 someday. I visited Houston/Beaumont a few years ago and went out at night looking for gators with a tour guide on airboat, drinking beer, and crossed into Louisana. I love those airboats by the way. The Ohio comes up in the river bottoms and reminds me very much of what everything looked like down there. How's the manufacturing jobs in engineering down there? I previously worked in aluminum smelting on the carbon side so I have some knowledge of coke refining and alumina refining. I know various refiners are in Lake Charles but I will have to do some research into where all of them are located. Plus I have experience in automotive, military and aerospace manufacturing. How much time can you reasonably get to Panama City Beach, FL? Family vacations there each summer. Mapquest says 6 hrs. Basically I assume most things are the same there as the South is generally the same everywhere. Just note, I can easily be a LSU fan when they play UK as I can't stand either one of our overpaid coaches.... Thanks again for your answers.
