    :wavey:

My mother-in-law just moved in with us and has an old Radio Shack Pro-2043 30-channel programmable scanner. It's loaded with Wythe County codes, but I need codes for the local services, such as:

    1. Hardy EMS
    2. Hardy Fire
    3. Bedford County Sheriff
    4. Franklin County Sheriff
    5. Vinton Police
    6. Vinton Fire & Rescue
    7. Roanoke County Police
    8. VA State Police
    9. Any other suggested local services.

  2. Hey Danny,

All of Bedford County is trunked on the EDACS system and Vinton falls under Roanoke County's trunked system. VA troops out of Salem Barracks use the VHF band.

I have the break down sheet back home and will be more than happy to give you a copy. For now try www.radioreference.com it's nothing to setup an account and on the left side click on "RR Database", from there click on VA, then the county. It's real easy to use. This is a real good reference, but I have a better break down.

I will PM you when I get home from Norfolk.

    Thanks,

Maybe we can meet for lunch or fire a few shots at the indoor range.

Wow, Thanks!!! Now all I need is Hardy EMS and Hardy Fire (Bedford County).

  6. As far as the VFH frequencies, they may not be used anymore since the entire county switched to the 800 trunked system, but it cant hurt to try.
