How much wiggle room is there in playing with shotgun shell projectiles without adjusting the powder load? After learning of the fun and cheap slug substitute "cut shells" on youtube, and wax slugs, I decided I mix up a batch. Now this has me wanting to load carpet tacks, or washers, or fishing weights and wire bolos. The plan is wallyworld's 100 pack of winchester #8, opening up shells and reloading with whatever suits my fancy. With my 590A1's extra thick barrel I've got a (false?) sense of security.. So, are there some basic parameters I should follow? Stuff like putting in something too heavy and over pressurizing the barrel has me concerned. I'm surprised I've never heard more about this on glocktalk, but maybe there is a reason for it.. Wanna kill these ads? We can help!
