Just acquired a Ruger super Red Hawk 7 1/2" in 44 mag. I'd like to put some glass on it and hopefully tag a deer with it this fall.

I looked at a 4x28 Leupold at an independent shop today, but was hoping not to have to spend $300+.

Are there options in the $100-$200 neighborhood that will hold up? Any suggestions?
  2. I have not been able to break a Bushnell 3200 2-6X on 454's a 475 nor on a Freedom Arms 500WE. All mounted with SSK TSOB mounts

Did you consider any of the Red Dots from Bushnell, Millet, or Burris.
I have a scope on the 44 629, but the Red Dot on Glock 20 is super fast for target acquistion. Scope is slower, but accurate to 100+ yards. Trade off between fast and longer distance

On my 629 44 Mag I have the 2 power Leupold. Had that scope over 30 years and still godd. My friend has a Burris on his 44 Mag. Don't go to cheap on a mag handgun scope, or you will be buying a new. I already blew the mount off the 44 Mag. The scope is still good, but ripped the mounting screw into two pieces. It was a Bushnell mount

My 9 1/2" SRH has been wearing a Bushnell 2-6x since I bought it. This is a doe I took two years ago with a 75 yard shot.
