If anyone is interested in shooting different types of steel matches, bowing pin matches, PPC, and bullseye. The Monocacy Pistol Club in Frederick, MD has matches that are open to the public.

  2. How are their steel matches?

Might be a good warm up before the USPSA season starts.

There are three types of steel matches.
    1. Falling steel has 12 targets, tombstones, sliders, and silouetts, with one stopper. A mag change is required before shooting the stop plate.
    2. Lots of steel is practice for the PSA Shootout. It has 24 targets of all types. Only 10 rnds in the mag.
    3. Speed steel has 5 sets of 5 stationary targets with a stopper at each station.

I can vouch for the club being enjoyable. I've been there a few times, and shot. There are people of all levels shooting there. From novice to expert, and for 5 dollars a match it can't be beat in price. It's alot of fun although bowling pins can get inside your head.
