    Hi All

We have a barn with LOTS of pidgeons in it, need to get rid of them.. they make an friggin mess :(

So, as me being only 14, I don't have a real gun yet, so I have airguns, and they dont seem to do sh*t :(

Is there any specific area to beed on when shooting pidgeons with an airgun?

    My Airguns are:

    Crosman CA 1077 - 495fps
    Daisy Red Ryder - 280fps
    Marksman 2015K - 275fps
CZ SLAVIA 618 - unknown fps (If anyone knows, please tell me.)
    Daisy 622x - 400fps
    Crosman w/ 4" and 8" barrel 357 - 400fps

Those will work if you can dink them in the head or neck. They're a bit slow if you're trying to penetrate the wing feathers, back or breast though. Just pick the most accurate rifle and aim for the noggin.

Buy yourself a Gamo Shadow 1000 177cal pellet rifle.$124 @ Wal Mart. It will take a pidgeon out no problem.;) Or the Crosman 22cal pellet rifle should work good also. Man! I wish that I could be there to help you. That should be loads of fun. I would aim for the chest. Let us know how things go.;)

Wish I could get an Shadow 1000, but Canadian law restricts airguns over 495fps..

I tried my crosman 1077 at the head, it just kinda brused it off.

I'm gonna try my compound bow.

    Shaner,

If you try the bow, be sure to use some of the arrows with the rubber tips.

I can't imagine your dad being to happy when he sees a dozen arrows stuck in roof of his barn.

I did the same thing in our barn when I was a yungun'. We used to send a chase guy into the barn and shotgun them (the pigeons that is..) when they flew out the open window. After a while they got smart and would not leave the barn. Dad bought me a box of 22 shorts and said have at 'em. I popped the remaining few up in the rafters trying to make sure they were standing in front of a beam to stop the bullet. Funny thing was that the couple that didn't fall out of the rafters basically decomposed up there and we never had another pigeon back in the barn for the next 20 years that I lived there.

I would thing the CA 1077 shooting some pointy tipped pellets (assuming it will shoot pellets, I dunno) oughtta do the trick with a chest shot.

Have fun shooting them 'cuz they sure do make a friggin mess.

    Erik

w00t I got 5 of these dirty suckers.. FIVE! What I did was take the .22 cal pellets from my daisy 622X (Beretta 92FS)and make them really sharp with added soder (Spelling?)... Just sanded them down... Kinda a pain but I spent 1/2 the night doing it.

While I'm shooting my share of the pigeon invasion, my neighbor has been shooting them with his .22 rifle, he got 44 today. I wish my father was still alive so I could use my .22 :(

What you need is a .22 but a beeman air rifle might do the trick.

Not many, I am sick in bed with a soar throat and an ear ache, but when I get feeling better there will be more pigeons dead!! w00t

Anyways, Well I took 1 last evening, I think it's one that I hit in the wing thursday. It walked up on our porch when we were watching TV, then it went around the side of the house and was looking in the window to my room (Where my guns are on a rack). So I took my 622X and chased it away from my window and unloaded 6 rnds into its head ;z
