It is very sweet. The front strap checkering on the SS isn't as sharp as on the ArmoryKote model I handled at the gun show. Overall, it is nice and tight and the trigger feels crisp. Hope to take it out to the range next weekend. Pictures to come.

You have a great gun. My TRP Operator, 1/2 rail, has been flawless @ 2500 rounds.

You and I agree even if bac does't like rails.

Bac needs a railed Taurus to complete his collection?

I like my Springfield 45 TRP SS. Nice fit & finish. Nice trigger.

I bought it 10 days ago.

Had a few FTFs at first. I reduced my OAL & no problems since.

One of the best deals in 1911's. The ones I've had apart show extensive hand work with great fit and finish.

Yes, they may not be a Pro, but for the cost difference they are a best buy in the Springfield line.

Note the new throat configuration on the barrel on the right. Believe it or not, this new setup actually improves reliability and reduces the chances of case blowout by better supporting the case head. All current-production Colts use this new configuration, including the new Series 70 pistols. An original GI barrel is at the far left, while a normal "throated" barrel is shown in the middle for comparison.

MEANT TO PUT THIS IN A NEW POST.
