    Mas -

As you know, a Phoenix PD detective shot and killed a serial bank robber/cop killer a few days ago responding to a bank robbery in progress.

I am curious to the duty round/pistol used, as it seemed to be effective in stopping this killer.

Do you know the duty round/pistol used?

Thanks and Happy New Year! Have a great 2014.

Doc, last I knew Phoenix PD was issuing Glock .40s, G22 for uniformed personnel and possibly more compact version(s) for plainclothes, and duty load was 180 grain Gold Dot.

There are Phoenix and Phoenix area cops on GT's Cop Talk; I would suggest posting the same question there. They would have more up to date info than I.

Kudos to the skilled and courageous detective whose decisive action apparently saved a brother officer's life.

    best,
